New Summer Course at Valand 

Curating and Cultural Production Strategies: Galleri Experimentell

Course Duration: 14 June – 31 August

Class Size: 12-16 students

18 HECs (18 ECTS)

Anthony Marcellini and Laura Mott are teaching a class this summer at Valand aimed at exploring forms of exhibition-making and artistic presentation by turning Valand’s Rotor 1 into an experimental, artist-run gallery space. The course will examine alternative models of exhibition production by artists and artist collaboratives, discussing how these structures can introduce elements of invention, play, fiction, performativity and criticism that ultimately complement and challenge artistic practice itself.  Participants will be grouped into four teams and each will develop their own exhibition/performance space, resulting in a series of four exhibitions/events to be mounted in Rotor 1 gallery throughout the course. This class is open to anyone with Bachelors or equivalent degree. We are looking for  a wide diversity of participants from numerous fields of cultural production to attend, especially participants from outside Valand.

There will be an informal information session at Valand on Friday, April 9 at 17:00 in Endre Nemes
